Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities encompass the following areas:
Maintain TCVA website and online calendar
Refresh all university websites that reference TCVA
Serve as liaison with University Communications for all website content
Promote the cross-sharing of website links with museums and galleries across the region, as a means of cross-promoting exhibition and education programming
Print Publications: To create and disseminate the following printed materials, as necessary:
Brochure with general info about TCVA
Bus Trip mailers/promotions
Elevator, directional, and informational signs
Invitations for special events
Write and distribute press releases to promote exhibitions, workshops, outreach activities, special events
Arrange interviews related to exhibition or outreach programming (print, radio, tv)
Generate media articles and/or features: magazines, radio (i.e. UNCTV, WFDD and other NPR affiliates)
Gallery Guides on Issuu
Update university and community calendars on a continuous basis
Social Media and Electronic Communications: To post TCVA events and activities on the following:
Facebook & Twitter
TCVA E-Newsletter (Bi-weekly)/FOCUS?
E-vites and e-mail updates
Paid Advertising/Media Sponsorships:
Create copy for and manage creation of print and radio advertisements
Work with TCVA media sponsorships to plan and execute advertising schedule
Networking and Co-promotions:
Work with High Country Host Marketing Partnership and other organizations devote to tourism marketing to identify promotional and advertising opportunities
Network with regional visual arts centers in promoting visual arts programming across the region
Attend events/expos on and off campus to promote the TCVA
Fully participate as a team member of the TCVA staff by working closely with staff colleagues in the curatorial, education, outreach, marketing, visitor/member services, administrative and financial areas of the center's operations
Attend and participate in staff meetings, curatorial meetings, planning sessions and retreats, and other meetings, as necessary
Coordinate marketing efforts with key functional areas of TCVA operations (including but not limited to: exhibitions and related activities, education and outreach programs, donor and visitor services, fundraising and special events)
Assist in the process of organizing/archiving photos and other marketing materials
In-house editor for all print materials for the public
Coordinate efforts with the Marketing Director for the Office of Arts and Cultural Programs and the University Communications team
Ensure that funds allocated to the exhibition programs are utilized wisely and efficiently and that spending does not exceed established budgets
Previous experience promoting visual arts programming, exhibitions, special events, lectures and workshops in a large-scale setting.
