Assists in the development and implementation of marketing strategies and promotions to enhance the image and create awareness of the University of Houston Department of Athletics.
Assists in developing and implementing strategies to generate revenue through season and individual game ticket sales for football, men's basketball, women's basketball and baseball, in coordination with the Ticket Office staff.
Assists in developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing plan for Olympic team sports of women's soccer, women's volleyball, women's softball and track and field; outlines promotional and sales strategies.
Assists with increasing awareness of all sports through print and electronic media, telemarketing, billboards, Internet and group contacts; secures trade-out opportunities when possible.
Assists in the development and distribution of high quality professional printed materials, such as ticket brochures, schedule cards, posters and flyers.
Assists in the development and overall implementation of promotional plans for individual games to maximize interest and attendance.
Initiates programs to enhance community relations, promote group ticket sales and outreach with youth groups and other similar organizations in the surrounding areas.
Coordinates and supervises marketing interns and student marketing group to improve game presentation.
Recommends initiatives to improve promotion and entertainment presentations, such as appearance of ticket sellers/takers, public address announcers, music player introductions, band and cheerleaders.
Coordinates the scheduling and execution of promotional and advertising videos during homes games with UH video staff where the Cougar Vision screens are utilized.
Advances the goal of making the University of Houston game experience enjoyable for all in attendance. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Bachelors and 5 years experience
Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
