About the Client Advocacy & Education Department of Financial Management Services
The Marketing and Communications Manager position in the Client Advocacy & Education (CAE) department of Financial Management Services (FMS) is key to achieving the department's mission of educating campus on how to perform financial tasks accurately, efficiently, and within policy. FMS provides financial systems, services and support to Stanford's distributed communities, including university faculty and staff. Scope of services include: Payroll Services, Account Setup and Maintenance, Buying and Paying, Travel, Expense Reports and Reimbursement, Credit Card Merchant Services, Global Business Support Services, and more.
In this exciting and rewarding position as the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will be responsible for the planning, development and implementation of strategies and plans for marketing, communications, change management and content management. You will oversee the development and delivery of accurate and timely information provided through marketing strategies, integrated communications, and instructional websites consistent with Stanford's high-quality image. You will lead a team of marketing and communication specialists and work in partnership with FMS business owners and CAE colleagues specializing in instructional design, training, web design and publication.
Success in this position requires strong financial and business acumen in order to support the full scope of products and services provided to Stanford business units by FMS. You should have change management experience; knowledge of Prosci (ADKAR) change management model a plus.
Job duties include:
Marketing and Communications
Manage and measure the success of comprehensive marketing and communications programs, ensuring consistency with Stanford's high-quality image
Define and institutionalize standards, guidelines, audit and evaluation processes, and business metrics for marketing and communications deliverables
Design and develop marketing and communication plans and deliverables (e.g., email, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, web content, marketing materials)
Lead and manage a team of marketing and communication specialists
Manage and contribute to ongoing operational communications (e.g., system enhancements, issue and downtime notifications, updates to financial policy and procedures)
Manage and contribute to the design, creation and maintenance of FMS websites (e.g., Gateway to Financial Activities, FMS intranet)
Provide input/feedback on user interface and system messaging
Work in partnership with business owners to design, develop, implement and evaluate client surveys
Organize and facilitate communication forums and focus group sessions to gather feedback from campus clients
Be knowledgeable of and proficient in industry best practices, tools, and implementation strategies for change management in order to recommend and implement high impact solutions that best support organizational initiatives
Represent CAE as Change Management Project Manager on cross-functional project teams tasked with implementing FMS strategic initiatives
Analyze the impact of changes to policy, business processes, and financial systems in order to design and implement effective campus readiness plans
Develop and manage relationships with internal management teams and key client representatives in order to best support their business objectives and be considered a valued partner (while developing and delivering change management plans and associated deliverables)
Collaborate with communications, instructional design, training and outreach staff to develop and implement change management strategies and plans and associated deliverables (e.g., communications, training, outreach and support materials)
