The Department of Marketing in the College of Business at Clemson University invites applications for a tenure-track position to begin in Fall 2019. The preferred candidate is expected to be hired at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The compensation package will be commensurate with background, qualifications and experience and will also include the title of "Dan Duncan Professor of Sports Marketing" along with its associated duties, benefits and resources, if the hired candidate's record of achievement warrants such.
The Dan Duncan Professor of Sports Marketing is expected to be a leading scholar whose research contributions and interests reflect significant intersections with sports science. Additionally, The Dan Duncan Professor will be expected to identify meaningful linkages between their research agenda and existing or potential sports science initiatives in other disciplines at Clemson University (e.g., Sports Communication, Motorsports Engineering, and Sports Management). Such initiatives include thought leadership in the Robert H. Brooks Sports Science Institute as well as cultivating potential partnerships with industry.
A record of scholarly leadership is expected for the hired candidate who must possess a Ph.D. in marketing and have a proven track record and future research agenda that includes publications in premier journals and a national/international reputation in their field of specialty. Prominent participation in national and international academic conferences, a history of mentoring junior faculty and a strong willingness to collaborate with departmental colleagues are highly desirable. Teaching excellence in courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels is expected. The hired candidate will participate in outreach and service initiatives at the department, college, and university level.
