The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing an integrative marketing and communications strategy for the fundraising and communications efforts of Annual Giving programs which include writing, editing and proofreading support for the Engagement and Annual Programs Unit. Under the direction of the Director of Annual Giving, the Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications will compose and edit fundraising appeals via direct mail, telemarketing and e-communications; create collateral materials; and assist with donor communications. He/She will recommend targeted approaches for various audiences in solicitation and stewardship activities as well as other communications such as newsletters and social media initiatives, website updates, as needed; and conduct interviews with students, faculty, alumni and parents. The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications will also coordinate special projects as assigned by the Director of Annual Giving. The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications is accountable for reaching programmatic direct mail, email, and social media fundraising goals with particular responsibility in securing gifts of less than $5,000.The University of California, Irvine is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer advancing inclusive excellence.
