The Marketing Manager manages the execution of internal and external marketing and fundraising programs that enable programs, services, events and/or products to meet business objectives. Develops and implements marketing and promotions programs. Works to develop the execution of marketing and communication strategies to enhance brand image. Will manage and grow membership and manage financial tracking, as well as with identifying new members in the community and beyond.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of related experience in marketing and/or advertising.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Must have a State of Texas class âœCâ vehicle operatorâ™s license or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Five years marketing program management, advertising, and fundraising for non-profits.
Brand development and strategy experience to include executing marketing initiatives, tracking, and execution.
Oversees the drafting, editing, and scheduling of select marketing communications for media placement in a variety of channels (i.e., web, print, email, online). Manages marketing material in support of departmental marketing plans, including the design and development of print advertising and promotional items, and works with other media outlets for successful promotion of departmental services.
Ensures compliance with the Texas A&M University System (TAMUS) and member requirements as they relate to marketing and promotion of the member. Ensures adherence to Federal Communication Commission (FCC) guidelines and regulations. Works with the social media coordinator. Identifies mechanisms for promoting member programs and services. Assists committees and operating areas in developing marketing strategies for KAMU programs, services, and engagements. Evaluates existing KAMU marketing and promotional strategies and provides input into improving overall effectiveness of those strategies.
Oversees and organizes quarterly auctions. Develops fundraising and outreach programs. Develops and implements strategies to obtain underwriting and funding for TV and radio station operations. Provides recommendations to increase revenue goals. Represents the station and cultivates relationships with potential underwriters by traveling to public outreach events.
Will be required to drive a university or other motor vehicle to attend events. Creates fundraising proposals. Develops underwriting contracts and negotiates final agreements. Conducts membership and promotional campaigns to increase revenue and membership.
Participates in personnel activities to include hiring employees, completing performance evaluations, and conducting trainings. Conducts outreach initiatives with surrounding communities and maintains positive communications with campus and community leaders.
Manages the marketing departmentâ™s presentation library and marketing materials. Prepares the departmental budget and monitors income and expenses during the year. Supervises and mentors staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
