The Marketing Manager, under direction, provides support to the department in the area of internal and external marketing. Manages the research and production of publications in support of member objectives.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelorâ™s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five years of related experience in marketing and/or advertising.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Mastery of related applications, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Wordpress, social media platforms, and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication, strategic planning, organizational, project management, and creative skills.
Experience in brand implementation and maintenance as well as making communications-related recommendations.
Project management from conception to delivery in a timely manner and on budget.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Masterâ˜s degree in journalism, communication, marketing or related field.
Experience developing, managing, and implementing a comprehensive marketing and communications plan, as well as, brand management, budget oversight, and supervision.
Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Brand development and coordination skills; knowledge of electronic marketing protocols; knowledge of TAMU communications protocols, policies and procedures.
Strong graphic design expertise; writing/editing ability; Web site development and maintenance skills.
Strong photography and videography skills.
Ability to interface with stakeholders; leadership, management, and supervisory experience.
Manages department-wide marketing and branding efforts to âœtell our storyâ which include: university and department brand management and compliance, management of the department website, oversight of all social media platforms, digital signage coordination, production of/consultation on departmental publications, implementation of a strategic marketing and communications plan, conducting department trainings as needed, and planning department events such as StuAct Block Party and new student conference resource tables.
Work with department stakeholders to create engaging artwork, photography, and other multimedia components to enhance the strategic goals of the department. Design, print, and produce promotional materials in a variety of mediums including traditional print, electronic, social, and multimedia for a variety of internal and external audiences. Work with printing companies and related vendors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective solutions within branding requirements.
Collaborates with department stakeholders to craft a narrative and design associated publications that support the departmentâ™s assessment and development efforts and serves as the department liaison to Texas A&M Ventures if/when sponsorship opportunities arise. Manages the design and content of budget presentations, develops department-wide communication templates, develops and maintains the department Strategy and Brand Guide, collaborates with division communications team to develop and distribute news and press releases, and serves as a departmental representative or liaison to university and division marketing committees/offices. Serves on the DSA Communicators Team.
Responsible for the daily administrative management of the marketing and communications area. Duties include, but are not limited to, strategic planning for the area, developing and adhering to the area budget, ultimate responsibility for the programs and initiatives served by the area, assessment planning for the area, and assisting the Director Staff with department-wide initiatives and planning.
Responsible for direct supervision of a Graduate Assistant and indirect supervision of any associated student workers, interns, or practicum students, as determined by the needs of the area.
Participates on university, division, and department committees and task forces. Other duties as assigned.
