The Associate Director of Marketing & Design will provide technical and administrative oversight for the planning, promotion, and operations of the Rayburn Student Center Pride Shop. Position serves a key role in the marketing and delivery of services to a variety of constituents. Supports revenue generation by promoting both retail opportunities and internal support services. Responsible for planning, directing and implementing marketing activities (internal and external). Utilizes the latest technology, electronic media, as well as print media to effectively promote and market Rayburn Student Center services.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, directs, and implements marketing communications activities and programs for the RSC as well as external marketing efforts for revenue generation initiatives.
Creates and implements comprehensive marketing plan for the RSC and its programs and services.
Ensures that key, strategic messages are communicated effectively to target audiences.
Responsible for communicating consistent messages across print and electronic media.
Oversee the development and maintenance of the Rayburn Student Center Website, Social Medial Initiatives, and Digital Signage program.
Oversees and facilitates the student listserv and Roar Electronic newsletter.
Utilizes new media and technology for the delivery of marketing services.
Develops and manages budgets for the department and keeps revenue and expenditures on target.
Oversees fee schedules, inventory and billing for Pride Shop.
Effectively promotes services of RSC as a special event venue to community groups.
Communicates marketing guidelines and resources to students and students organizations.
Establishes and nurtures campus and community relationships and partnerships. Communicates and coordinates with various campus departments to facilitate support for internal institutional marketing efforts. Supports campus partner promotional needs and ensures that marketing strategies and objectives reach their intended target audiences.
Implements marketing and advertising efforts needed by the RSC and its core units including social media.
Creates effective and consistent awareness of student services, campus spirit, and inclusion.
Researches, creates, implements, and evaluates student development initiatives for student employees in Pride Shop.
Maintain proficiency with the latest graphic and digital design software through self-directed learning, participating in professional development courses, or attending training as needed.
Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, provide direction and evaluation of support staff.
Education: Bachelorâ™s degree in Marketing or relevant field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience: Four (4) years of related full-time related experience. Demonstrated experience in videography, graphic design, audio/video, marketing and web design.
Knowledge / Skills: Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Analytical. Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to: Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:
Masterâ™s degree preferred in Art/Art Communications/Advertising/Marketing /Public Relations or equivalent. Prefer experience in higher education setting. Experience in art direction, strategic planning, budgeting, project management. Knowledge of installing, configuring and troubleshooting digital media. Prefer Adobe Creative Suite Certification.

Student workers, graduate assistants, graphic designers / photographer/videographer, promotion team and field marketers.
