Direct Marketing Manager

Areas of Responsibility:
Working with the overall strategy framework of the Chief Development Officer, (CDO), and Director of Donor Marketing, (DDM), lead individual campaign strategic development of all mass fundraising projects for revenue generation, donor retention, donor acquisition and donor cultivation.
Oversee mass campaign calendar, creative strategies, target audience selection and segmentation, testing strategies, reporting and analysis of campaign results.
Oversee and successfully manage and report on the mass fundraising expense and revenue budgets.
Work with the Director of Donor Marketing and related team to implement campaign production on time, budget and strategy.
Specific Job Duties:
Lead development of periodic telethons and in-TV program campaigns working in close conjunction with production, Partner Call Centre and other Development staff.
Develop strategy and ensure successful implementation of the mid donor program.
Develop strategy and ensure successful implementation of a donor acquisition program with special emphasis on online donors.
Develop strategy and ensure successful implementation of a monthly donor conversion and retention program.
Complete project briefs, create and ensure adherence to work back schedules, oversee and review copywriting, artwork, print proofs and produced videos.
Oversee selection of suitable ministry offers as required.
Liaison with the CRM administrators to extract required reports and data exports and ensure accuracy.
Perform donor base audits and reviews.
Attend weekly planning and update meeting with CDO and DDM.
Prepare regular weekly and monthly reports for CDO on all programs.
Ensure mass marketing development projects include effective, accurate, creative and response-generating communications messages.
Other duties as required.

Post-Secondary Education or higher with continued education in Development areas
Minimum of 5 years leading or guiding a robust development operation within a charity or agency where integrated mass donor direct mail and online fundraising strategies were successfully deployed.
Experience with multiple medium or larger charity fundraising programs
Demonstrated ability to lead a team toward common goals and strategic objectives
Proven ability to be proactive, resourceful, and to collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet business objectives, fostering strong working relationships
Skills & Abilities:
Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Ability to work proactively and independently
Comfortable working in a fast paced, highly flexible environment
Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the ability to articulate and present complex analytics, strategy, and recommendations clearly.
Knowledge of best practices and industry trends in data analytics and a good understanding of donor software
