Must be self-directed and proactive, with the ability to effectively manage projects and meet goals while managing multiple priorities. Person will possess the accumulated professional experience needed to produce a high volume of writing, in a variety of formats and styles. The person has exceptional news/feature writing and copy editing skills and a desire to tell a good story. Will serve as the primary respond to routine media inquiries while also developing and implementing media relations strategies.
Will actively monitor and develop strategies to respond to media stories, with demonstrated experience and understanding of how to successfully pitch stories to the media and appropriately relate to media representatives. Serves as the Editor of Beacon, Beebe’s community magazine; writing for, and coordinating each issue as well as contributing to the long-term vision of the publication.
Writes for and edits other print and digital publications as assigned. In collaboration with the Digital Content Coordinator, write content for Beebe’s external websites and social media channels. Develops and maintains a digital resource for the department which will represent the ‘source of truth’ in the development of content. Coordinates and attends executive presentations within the community. Co-coordinates Beebe's official events such as ribbon cuttings, open houses, etc.
Serves as a member of Public Information Officer (PIO) team during disaster/ emergency situations, filling in for PIO when needed. In collaboration with Digital Content Coordinator, serve as project manager and attend photo and video shoots as assigned. Will participate in a collaborative and creative team environment. Must be able to work under tight deadlines and make quick decisions, while maintaining good judgment in the interest of the organization. The Public Relations Content Coordinator must be available for occasional evening and weekend events and meetings as needed.

Demonstrated ability to effectively manage projects and meet goals while managing multiple priorities. The person has exceptional news/feature writing and copy editing skills, with demonstrated experience and understanding of how to successfully pitch stories to the media and appropriately relate to media representatives. Experience in event coordination and a desire to work in a collaborative, creative and results-driven environment. Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field required. Must have valid driver’s license with no more than 3 moving violations.
Serve as the primary responde to routine media inquiries. Demonstrate effective understanding of which Beebe team member is appropriate to provide a response to the inquiry, and independently contact individual(s). Maintain follow-through of an inquiry, ensuring the reporter has what they need to complete their story. Involve Director on sensitive or high-profile inquiries.
Develop and implement actionable and measurable media relations strategies to respond to local, regional, state and national stories about Beebe, its competitors and the healthcare industry. Successfully pitch stories to the media; relate appropriately to media representatives through building relationships, demonstrating quick and consistent follow-up.
Demonstrate active monitoring of local news for trends as well as ways in which Beebe can position itself as an authority or elevate its brand position. Serve as Beebe’s media relations representative at appropriate Beebe events or where media will be present on any Beebe campus, greeting media partners and escorting them during their time on campus. Perform routine follow-up with media representatives after events to ensure they have information needed to complete their story. Support Beebe team members who will be interviewed by the media, which may include travelling to the interview location.
Serve as the Executive Editor of Beacon; contributing writing for and demonstrating proactive leadership of each issue. Meet publication deadlines and independently solve minor issues as they arise. Serve as to go-to resource and leader of the long-term vision of the publication. Work effectively with creative vendor to ensure publication always maintains high quality standards. Write for and edit other print and digital publications as assigned, meeting deadlines and actively contributing to the publication’s creative development. Write content for Beebe’s external websites and social media channels as assigned, meeting deadlines.
Develop and actively maintain a digital resource, such as a set of organized folders on the shared drive, for the department to use as the ‘source of truth’ in the development of content. Coordinate and attend executive presentations within the community. This includes ensuring that power point presentations and other collateral is updated and available for the event, as appropriate. Source speakers for events when needed or assigned, serving as the point person for the development of presentations. Maintain the shared communications resource (currently Trello), setting up and editing boards as needed, ensuring effective dissemination of information.
Co-coordinate Beebe's official events such as ribbon cuttings, open houses, etc. Serve as project manager and attend photo and video shoots as assigned. This may include coordinating photographers and participants, shooting photos or videos when appropriate, and following up on details when needed. Serve as a member of Public Information Officer (PIO) team during disaster/ emergency situations. Serve as PIO when PIO is unavailable. Participate in a collaborative and creative team environment, attending meetings as assigned. Demonstrate active participation in team development. Attend occasional evening and weekend events and meetings as needed. Other Duties as assigned.
